Models of Party Organisation in Republic of Ireland

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá modely politického stranictví. V teoretické části jsou popsána kritéria (organizační, ideologické, volebně-sociální), na jejichž základě je rozlišováno pět modelů politických stran, a to modely kádrové strany, masové strany, catch-all strany, kartelové strany a profesionální strany. V praktické části jsou, na základě výše zmíněných kritérií, analyzovány vybrané irské strany (Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael, Labour Party, Sinn Féin, Progressive Democrats, Green Party). Následně strany přiřadím, po získání potřebných informací, k odpovídajícím stranickým modelům.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is focus on political party models. In theoretical part there is decription of criteria (organizational, ideological, electoral and sociological). These criteria are helpful for dividing parties into five basic models - cadre party, mass party, catch-all party, cartel party and professional party. In practical part of this thesis there is analysis of chosen irish parties (Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael, Labour Party, Sinn Féin, Progressive Democrats, Green Party). Then I have used gained information for party classification. I applied the theoretical knowledge into practice and I include every Irish party to one (or more) party model, which is suitable for it.
