Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá dopravním propojením Ukrajiny s okolními státy a jeho vývojem v moderní historii. Teoretická část shrnuje dosavadní poznatky o faktorech ovlivňujících mezinárodní osobní dopravu a prezentuje specifika osobní dopravy v ukrajinském kontextu. Analytická část rozebírá systém mezinárodní osobní dopravy na Ukrajině jednak v rovině dopravní infrastruktury, jednak z hlediska nabídky autobusových, železničních a leteckých spojů ze čtyř vybraných ukrajinských měst. Nakonec se výsledky vlastní analýzy konfrontují s výsledky dřívějších podobných analýz z prostředí jiných postsocialistických zemí. Práce si mimo jiné klade za cíl zasadit zjištění z analýzy do širšího geografického, politického a sociálně­ekonomického kontextu a identifikovat tímto způsobem faktory, které mají vliv na podobu analyzovaného propojení, včetně odlišností v případě jednotlivých sousedních států. Hlavním předpokladem práce byla prokazatelnost geopolitické reorientace Ukrajiny z východu na západ. Jeho potvrzením jsou jak aktuální projekty dopravní infrastruktury, tak struktura nabídky dopravních služeb, kde je patrný pokles významu spojení s Ruskem, a naopak narůstající význam vazeb se západními sousedy, zejména s Polskem.

Abstract:

This Master’s thesis deals with transport connections of Ukraine with its neighbouring countries and their development in modern history. The theoretical part summarizes existing knowledge about factors which influence international public transport and presents some specifics of public transportation in the Ukrainian context. The analytical part examines Ukraine’s international public transport system firstly at the level of transport infrastructure, and then at the level of the supply of connections by bus, rail, and air from four selected Ukrainian cities. Finally, the results of this analysis are confronted with those of previous similar analyses from other post­socialist countries. One of the thesis’ objectives is to put the analysis’ findings in a broader geographical, political, and socio-economic context and thus to identify factors which influence the analysed connections, and which cause differences between cases of individual neighbouring countries. The main assumption of the thesis was the demonstrability of Ukraine’s geopolitical reorientation from the East to the West. It is confirmed through current transport infrastructure projects as well as the structure of the supply of transport services, where one can observe the declining significance of connections with Russia and, on the other hand, the growing importance of connections with western neighbours, especially Poland.
