Importance of cervids (Cervidae) in commercial breeding.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá významem jelenovitých (Cervidae) v užitkových chovech v rámci ČR a celého světa. V této práci je podrobně shrnuta problematika zejména farmových, dále oborních a zájmových chovů jelenovitých kopytníků v ČR, která zahrnuje legislativu, podmínky chovu, veterinární péči apod. Dále informace o chovech této zvěře v okolních státech Evropy a ostatních zemích světa, výzkumech, managementu a intenzifikaci v oblasti chovu jelenovitých. Jsou zde uvedeny poznatky o kvalitě masa těchto zvířat a jeho vhodnosti ke konzumaci pro obyvatelstvo z dietetického hlediska. Také je zde popsána problematika odchytu a imobilizace zvířat pomocí narkotik a problémy s nimi spojené. Dále jsou v této práci zpracovány informace o domestikaci jelenovitých v rámci některých druhů a využití jejich paroží v oblasti tradičního léčitelství, dekoračních předmětů a průmyslového zpracování.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the importance of cervids (Cervidae) in commercial breeding in the Czech Republic and around the world. This work summarizes in detail the issue of farm, professional and hobby breeding of deer ungulates in the Czech Republic, which includes legislation, breeding conditions, veterinary care, etc. Furthermore, information on breeding this game in neighboring European countries and other countries and intensification in the field of deer farming. There is knowledge about the quality of meat of these animals and its suitability for consumption for the population from a dietary point of view. The problem of trapping and immobilizing animals with narcotics and the problems associated with them are also described here. Furthermore, in this work are processed information about the domestication of deer in some species and the use of their antlers in the field of traditional medicine, decorative objects and industrial processing.
