Comprehensive geologic study of the Jeseník Karst

Abstract:

V období od podzimu 2008 do března 2010 byl v oblasti jesenického krasu uskutečněn komplexně geologický průzkum horninového prostředí vybraných jeskyní, jejich speleotém a jeskynní atmosféry. Odebrané vzorky krystalických vápenců a kontaktních hornin byly podrobně studovány optickými identifikačními metodami v procházejícím světle za účelem stanovení jejich látkového složení. Odebrané jeskynní hlíny byly podrobeny zrnitostní analýze se zaměřením na detailnější zhodnocení jílové a pískové frakce. Chemické složení vybraných vzorků bylo ověřeno silikátovou analýzou. U vzorků studovaných hornin (mramory, ruly, fylity, granity, granodiority, brekcie) byly laboratorní gamaspektrometrií stanoveny koncentrace přirozených radioaktivních prvků. Stavba a složení odebraných vzorků speleotém byly mimo standardních optických určovacích metod stanoveny využitím katodové luminiscence. Zvláštní pozornost je v práci věnována stavbě a složení speleoaerosolů tvořících součást jeskynní atmosféry. V terénu souběžně probíhal speleologicko-geologický výzkum, jehož výsledky tvoří součást předložené práce. I přesto, že jsou jednotlivé oblasti relativně blízko sebe, jsou tyto vzájemně odděleny a získané poznatky, jež jsou velmi pestré, jsou v práci vzájemně srovnány.

Abstract:

Within the period from autumn 2008 till March 2010, the comprehensive geologic prospecting of rock environment in selected caves, their speleothems and the atmosphere of the caves was realized in the area of the Jeseník Karst. The obtained samples of crystallic limestones and contact rocks were closely analyzed by optical identification methods in passing light in order to determine their material composition. Obtained samples of caves loam were subjected to textural analysis with a view to more detailed evaluation of clay and sand fraction. Chemical composition of selected samples was examined by silicite analysis. In that samples of studied rocks (marbles, gneisses, phyllites, granites, granodiorites, breccias) were determined the concentrations of natural radioactive elements by using the laboratory gamma spectrometry. The construction and composition of obtained speleothem samples were, besides the standard optical definitive method, determined by the utilisation of cathode luminiscence. In this labor, the special focus is put on construction and composition of speleoaerosols that are part of cave atmosphere. The speleo-geologic survey was proceed in the terrain at the same time and the results are part of this labor. Despite the fact that individual areas are close to each other, they are separate and gained information, which are varied, are confronted.
