Expectations of the future from the perspective of adolescents living in childrens homes

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce je zaměřena na mladistvé žijící v dětském domově, především na jejich představy o budoucnosti. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a empirickou část. V teoretické části popisuji především dětské domovy, příchod do dětského domova a za jakých okolností se děti ocitají v této instituci. Slabé stránky ústavní péče jsou nedílnou součástí této práce, jelikož právě ty mohou mít vliv na budoucí život mladého dospělého. Následující kapitoly pojednávají o možnostech bydlení a také o finanční gramotnosti. V rámci praktické části je proveden kvantitativní výzkum, a to formou dotazníkového šetření. Byl proveden v několika dětských domovech v Moravskoslezském kraji. Dotazník je směřován na představy mladistvých a mladých dospělých o budoucím životě. Cílem tohoto dotazníkového šetření je zjistit, jaké mají mladiství a mladí dospělí v dětských domovech představy o své budoucnosti v oblasti bydlení, financí, zaměstnání.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is focused on the visions of the juveniles living in a children's home. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part I describe especially children's homes, children's arrival at children's home and the circumstances under which the children find themselves in this institution. The weak points of an institutional care are an integral part of this thesis, as they can have an impact on the future life of a young adult. The following chapters deal with the possibilities of housing and financial literacy. In the practical part, a quantitative research is carried out, using a questionnaire survey. It was filled by children in several children's homes in the Moravian-Silesian region. The questionnaire is focused on their visions and the aim is to find out what ideas juveniles and young adults in children's homes have about their future life in the field of housing, finances, employment.
