Abstract:

Disertační práce se zaměřuje na problematiku návratu žen na pracovní trh po rodičovské dovolené. V teoretické části práce se věnujeme konceptualizaci faktorů ovlivňujících podmínky pro návrat/vstup žen na pracovní trh po rodičovské dovolené, a to jak na makro, tak na mikro-sociální úrovni. Mezi makro-úrovňové faktory jsou zařazeny institucionální podmínky (rodinná politika a politika pracovního trhu), kulturní kontext a strukturální podmínky pracovního trhu, zejména postavení žen a žen s dětmi na trhu práce. Následuje vymezení mikro-sociálních souvislostí: faktor osobních preferencí v oblasti kombinace rodinného a pracovního života, faktor mikroekonomických tlaků ovlivňujících rozhodování žen o další pracovní kariéře po rodičovské dovolené a vliv lidského kapitálu žen. Teoretická část práce je opřena o výzkum aktuální dostupné literatury, sekundární analýzy existujících výzkumných zpráv a podle potřeby podpořena vlastními analýzami sekundárních dat i primárních dat. Cílem práce je prozkoumat jak jsou jednotlivé faktory identifikované v teoretické části práce vnímány samotnými ženami v období tranzice z rodičovské dovolené na pracovní trh v České republice, v jakém jsou tyto faktory vztahu, jaká je mezi nimi interakce. Empirická část práce tedy navazuje na tento první krok a je založena čistě na kvalitativním empirickém výzkumu. Půjde nám o subjektivní percepci žen, přičemž, vzhledem k hlavní výzkumné otázce, bude zvláštní pozornost věnována vlivu faktoru relevantních veřejných politik. Zvolenou výzkumnou technikou je kvalitativní rozhovor, který by nám měl dovolit porozumět životní situaci žen a umožnit zkoumat interakci faktorů v kontextu této životní situace.

Abstract:

This dissertation work focuses on the problem of women’s labour market re-entry after the parental leave in the Czech Republic. In the theoretical part of the work, we conceptualize the factors which can possibly influence the conditions for the labour market re-entry after the parental leave on both macro- and micro-societal level. Concerning the macro-level factors, we elaborate on the institutional conditions (family policies and the labour market policies), the cultural context and the structural conditions of the labour market, especially on the women’s position in the labour market. Regarding the micro-level of the problem, the following factors are included: preferences with respect to the combination of work and family, micro-economic constraints of the households possibly influencing women’s decisions on further work after the parental leave, and the human capital of the women. The theoretical part of the work builds on the relevant contemporary literature, secondary analyses of the existing research reports and, where necessary, it is supported by the own analyses of the secondary as well as primary data. The main aim of this dissertation work is to explore how the individual factors, identified in the theoretical part, are perceived by the women themselves during the transition from the parental leave to the labour market, what is the relationship among these factors/ what is the interaction among them. The empirical part of the dissertation is then based solely on the qualitative research. We are interested in the women’s subjective perception of the factors´ interaction with special attention devoted to the factor of the institutional conditions (social/family policies). It should help us to understand the women’s behaviour after the parental leave and the role of social policy in it. The qualitative interviews were employed, which allows for detailed elaboration on the women’s view on factors´ interaction in the context of given social situation.
