Intercultural comparison of the value content of personal and organizational identity and the degree of identification with the organization of Czech and Russian workers

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá osobní identitou českých a ruských zaměstnanců, jak vnímají organizační identitu z hlediska hodnot a jejích míru identifikace s organizací, ve které pracují. Cílem práce je zjistit, jak se liší obsah osobní a organizační identity u obou národností a vztah mezi shodou a mírou identifikace s organizací. Metody, které jsou potřebné pro získání a zpracování dat, jsou pěti položková tvrzení od Maela a Ashfortha, hodnotový dotazník a Portrait Values Questionnaire od Schwartze. Hodnotová preference se u obou národností liší a také každá jinak vnímá organizační identitu z hlediska hodnot. Míra identifikace s organizací je také odlišná u ruských a českých zaměstnanců. Získané výsledky svědčí o slabé míře identifikace zaměstnanců s organizací, a to u obou národností. Na základě zjištěných poznatků je vypracován soubor doporučení ke zlepšení manažerské činnosti.

Abstract:

Thesis deals with the personal identity of Czech and Russian employees, how they perceive organizational identity in terms of values and deals with their degree of identification with the organization in which they work. The aim of the thesis is to find out how the content of personal and organizational identity differs for both nationalities and the relationship between conformity and the degree of identification with the organization. The methods used to obtain, and process data are five items adapted from Mael and Ashforth, Schwartz’s value survey and Schwartz’s Portrait Values Questionnaire. Value preferences differ for both nationalities and, also each nationality views organizational identity differently in terms of values. The degree of identification with the organization is also different for Russian and Czech employees. The obtained results indicate a weak degree of identification of employees with the organization, for both nationalities. Based on the findings, an aggregate of recommendations was developer for improving management.
