Antroponymy and its Changes after Year 1938 (in the Case of the City of Kravaře)

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá antroponymií a jejími proměnami po roce 1938 v obci Kravaře, na území zvaném Hlučínsko. Toto území bylo již v 18. století součástí tehdejšího Pruska a poté střídavě patřilo pod českou nebo německou vládu, což mělo vliv i na jména zdejších obyvatel. Popsat jaký vliv na jména měla germanizace, která začala po podepsání mnichovské dohody v roce 1938 a následném připojení Hlučínska ke Třetí říši, je i cílem této práce. Práce se skládá z teoretické a praktické části. Teoretická část se věnuje onomastice, kromě vymezení základních onomastických pojmů se zaměřuje na vývoj německých jmen na českém území, a charakterizuje zkoumanou oblast, a to jak z hlediska geografického, tak historického. Praktická část se zabývá analýzou příjmení, která byla sesbírána z oddavkových rejstříků v letech 1934-1945 a z projektu Hultschiner soldaten.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis deals with antroponymy and its changes after the year 1938 in the city of Kravaře, located in the Hlučín region. This area was already part of Prussia in the 18th century and then alternately belonged to the Czech or German government who also affected the names of the people who lived here. The aim of this work is the effect of Germanization, which began after the signing of the Munich Agreement in 1938 and the subsequent annexation of the Hlučín region to the Third Reich, on names. The thesis consists of the theoretical and the practical part. The theoretic part deals with onomastics, except for the definition of basic onomastic terms, focuses on the development of German names in the Czech territory and characterizes the researched area, geographically and historically. The practical part deals with the analysis of surnames, which were collected from the marriage registers in the years 1934-1945, and the project Hultschiner Soldaten.
