E-Government as a Tool for Reducing the Democratic Deficit in the EU

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá e-Governmentem, neboli elektronickou vládou, jakožto možným nástrojem ke snížení demokratického deficitu v Evropské unii. V práci je e-Government popsán spolu s dalšími oblastmi, které jsou jeho součástí a to e- Participation, e-Voting a e-Democracy. Zabývá se také samotným problémem demokratického deficitu. Cílem této práce je zjistit, zda elektronizace vládních služeb může přispět ke snížení demokratického deficitu. Práce přestavuje i další nástroje, které e-Government komplementují, jako je transparentnost nebo Blockchain.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with e-Government, an abbreviation for electronic government, as a possible tool for reducing the democratic deficit in the European Union. In this paper, e-Government is described as a whole but also the paper describes its parts, namely e-Participation, e-Voting and e-Democracy. It also deals with the very problem of democratic deficit. The aim of this work is to find out whether the electronization of government services can contribute to reducing the democratic deficit. The work includes description of other tools that complement e-Government, such as transparency or Blockchain.
