Sports and physical activities of the visually impaired and its effect on the social integration of this group

Abstract:

Předkládaná bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na sportovní a pohybové aktivity zrakově postižených ve vybrané lokalitě, sleduje jejich přínosy pro zrakově postižené a zkoumá, jak ovlivňují sociální integraci této skupiny. V teoretické části jsou konceptualizovány základní pojmy z oblasti zdravotního a zrakového postižení, sociální integrace, sportovních a pohybových aktivit. Následuje část metodická, kde je zdůvodněno využití interpretativního paradigmatu, metody porozumění, kvalitativní výzkumné strategie a techniky rozhovoru dle návodu. Terénní šetření bylo provedeno mezi klienty a členy pomáhajících organizací a mezi sociálními pracovníky zaměstnanými v těchto organizacích. Na základě interpretace získaných dat autorka uvádí přehled přínosů pohybových aktivit pro dotázané a zamýšlí se nad jejich rolí v procesu sociální integrace. Identifikuje klíčové bariéry širšího využití pohybových aktivit zrakově postiženými a možnosti odstranění či zmírnění jednotlivých bariér.

Abstract:

The presented bachelor thesis is focused on sports and physical activities of the visually impaired in chosen locality, recognizes their benefits to visually impaired and searches for their influence on the social integration of this group. In the theoretical part, the basic ideas of health and visual impairment, social integration, sports and physical activities are conceptualized. The methodical part follows and substantiates the usage of the interpretative paradigm, the method of understanding, the qualitative research strategy and the interview based on instruction. The field research was realized among clients and members of helping organizations and among social workers employed in these organizations, too. Based on interpretation of the gained data, the author presents overview of the benefits of physical activities to the interviewed and speculates about their role in the process of the social integration, identifies the key barriers of wider usage of physical activities by the visually impaired and the possibilities of elimination or reduction of the barriers.
