The Process of Adaptation of Montessori Elementary School Pupils to Standard Secondary Schools

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce je členěna na dvě části, teoretickou a praktickou. Teoretická část obsahuje tři samostatné kapitoly. První kapitola se zabývá vztahem tématu k sociální pedagogice, charakterizuje alternativní pedagogické koncepce a jejich dějiny, popisuje reformní a alternativní školy. Druhá kapitola popisuje vzdělávání na alternativních a běžných školách v ČR a vzájemně je mezi sebou porovnává. Třetí kapitola se věnuje pojmu adaptace. Poslední kapitola se pak zabývá procesem adaptace žáků z montessori základních škol na běžné střední školy. Praktickou část tvoří kvalitativní výzkumné šetření, které se věnuje analýze a interpretaci rozhovorů s informanty, kteří prošli základním vzděláním na montessori škole a nyní studují na tradiční střední škole. Tito popisují své zkušenosti s přechodem a adaptací z montessori základní školy na běžnou střední školu.

Abstract:

This diploma work is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical section contains three independent chapters. The first chapter is concerned with the relation of the theme to social pedagogy while characterizing alternative pedagogic conceptions and their history and describes reformatory and alternative schools. The second chapter describes education in alternative and current schools in the Czech Republic and collates them mutually. The third chapter devotes itself to the concept of adaptation. The last chapter deals with the process of adaptation of pupils from the montessori elementary schools to secondary modern schools. The practical section is made up of qualitative research investigation aimed at the analysis and interpretation of dialogues with informants who have passed through the basic education of the montessori type and who are studying currently in a traditional secondary school. The said informants describe here the experiences of their transition and adaptation from the montessori elementary school to standard secondary modern schools.
