A Typical Fan of Death Metal Music

Abstract:

The master's thesis deals with the awareness of the death metal community in the Czech, but also in a foreign environment. The output of this thesis will be characteristics of current death metal listener. Thesis also focuses on introduction of this music genre and on lifestyle of members of this community. The author examines the target group of this musical style, thanks to which it will be possible to characterize not only typical members of the death metal subculture, but also potential listeners. Using literature, questionary and interviews to determine the target group, the author also defines possible negative connotations towards this style, which may affect the demand for this musical genre.

Abstract:

Magisterská práca sa venuje povedomiu o death metalovej komunite v českom, ale aj v zahraničnom prostredí. Výstupom práce bude charakteristika súčasného death metalového poslucháča. Práca sa tiež zameriava na predstavenie tohto hudobného žánru a životný štýl členov tejto komunity. Autor skúma cieľovú skupinu tohto hudobného štýlu, vďaka čomu bude možné charakterizovať nielen typických členov death metalovej subkultúry, ale aj potenciálnych poslucháčov. Pomocou literatúry, dotazníkového šetrenia a rozhovorov, sa okrem určenia cieľovej skupiny autor zameria aj na možné negatívne konotácie voči tomuto štýlu, ktoré môžu ovplyvňovať dopyt po danom hudobnom žánre.
