Abstract:

Pád komunistického režimu spojený s přechodem k demokracii a pluralistickému stranickému systému byl spojen také s otázkou, jaká by měla být zahraničně politická orientace ČSFR. Záhy se ukázalo, že dominantní je snaha o tzv. „návrat do Evropy“, který byl úzce provázán s procesem evropské integrace. Disertační práce je věnována analýze diskurzu nejvýznamnějších českých a slovenských politických stran a hnutí k evropskému integračnímu projektu od sametové revoluce do voleb uskutečněných v roce 1998. Jednalo se o zajímavé období, ve kterém se postoje politických stran k Evropským společenstvím/Evropské unii teprve začaly formovat. Práce vychází ze sociálně konstruktivistického vnímání světa, ve kterém hrají politické strany a jejich členové významnou úlohu, neboť jsou schopni ovlivnit pohled elektorátu na evropskou integraci a mají vliv na její podporu ve společnosti. Disertace odpovídá na několik výzkumných otázek: Jak se vyvíjel prointegrační a protiintegrační diskurz českých a slovenských politických stran k evropské integraci ve sledovaném období? Kolem jakých témat byl integrační diskurz konstruován? Reagovaly politické strany v rámci diskurzu výrazně na změny v ES/EU, nebo tuto skutečnost v komunikátech výrazněji nereflektovaly? Lze pozorovat významné rozdíly v diskurzu českých a slovenských politických stran k evropské integraci, a pokud ano, co bylo jejich důvodem? Byla ve veřejném mínění patrná určitá korelace s komunikáty a nosnými tématy politických stran a hnutí? V závěru disertace je čtenář krátce seznámen s vývojem po roce 1998.

Abstract:

The fall of the communist regime associated with the transition to democracy and the pluralist party system has brought up the need to redefine the foreign policy orientation of the Czech and Slovak Federative Republic. It shortly became clear that the dominant effort was the so-called "return to Europe", which was closely linked to the process of European integration. The dissertation analyses the discourse of the most important Czech and Slovak political parties and movements on the European integration project in the period from the Velvet Revolution to the elections held in 1998. This was an especially interesting period during which the attitudes of political parties towards the European Communities / European Union have only just begun to form. The work is based on a social constructivist perception of the world, in which political parties and their members play an important role, as they can influence the electorates' point of view on European integration and thus influence the attitudes of society. The aim of the dissertation is to answer several research questions: How did the pro-integration and anti-integration discourse of Czech and Slovak political parties on European integration develop in the specified period? Which were the topics the integration discourse was constructed? Did the political parties react significantly to the changes in the EC / EU within the discourse, or did they neglect them? Is it possible to observe significant differences in the discourse of the Czech and Slovak political parties towards European integration, and if so, what was their reason? Was there any correlation in public opinion with the communication and the main themes of political parties and movements? At the end of the dissertation, the reader is briefly acquainted with the development after 1998.
