Implementation of the Shared Service Center in an international company

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je analyzovat problematiku implementace interního Shared Service Centra v nadnárodní společnosti. Úvodní část je věnována přiblížení fenoménu SSC, jeho historii a výběru lokace. Následuje diskuze ohledně motivů zakládání centra. Hlavní část poukazuje na stěžejní aktivity určující celkovou úspěšnost projektu, jimiž jsou měření výkonnosti a samotná implementace SSC. V pokročilejší části práce nastíním oblasti působnosti jednotlivých základních finančních oddělení nově založeného SSC, které tvoří základ pro další možný růst centra. Česká republika patří k velmi lukrativní destinaci, díky vysoké vzdělanosti a jazykové vybavenosti a současně relativně nízké nákladovosti pracovního kapitálupráce. A proto sektoru SSC v České republice je věnována samostatná kapitola. V poslední části práce se zamýšlím nad možnými trendy v oblasti SSC.

Abstract:

The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyze the implementation of the Shared Service Center in an international corporation. The introductory part is devoted to outlining the SSC phenomenon, its history and location selection. This is followed by discussion regarding motives for implementing SSC. The main part points out the key activities determining the overall success of the project, which are performance measurement and SSC implementation itself. In the more advanced part of the thesis, I will outline the scope of the main financial departments of a newly established SSC, which form the basis for further growth of the center. The Czech Republic is a very lucrative destination thanks to its high level of education and language skills amongst the working capital which is relatively low cost at the same time. Therefore, a separate chapter is devoted to the SSC sector in the Czech Republic. In the last part of the thesis are considered possible trends in the area of SSC.
