The use of modern didactic methods in teaching of history - the legacy of Slovac state 1939-1945 in current slovak politics and society

Abstract:

The presented master's thesis is focused on the usage of modern activating teaching methods in the teaching of history. Selected methods that are used in the work are presented on the history topic of the Slovak state in the years 1939-1945 with a link to the current state in Slovak politics and society. It focuses on the manifestations of nationalism and extremism in a selected historical period and compares it with the current situation in Slovakia. The master's thesis should point out the current situation in society and at the same time present the possibilities of updating the teaching of history with a focus on this issue. The work presents a curriculum using selected modern teaching methods, presents their functions and tests them in two variants on students of two selected high school classes. The presented teaching has the following didactic goals: ability to critically evaluate historical events and evaluate them in the highest possible objectivity, at the same time spread awareness about the possibilities of diverse interpretation of historical events, ability to critically evaluate information and ability to verify their truth (cross-sectional topic - media teaching), present awareness on the misusing and misinterpretation of historical events. The whole work is divided into two large units. The first unit is a theoretical part, which contains the theory of didactic teaching and historical interpretations of the selected period. The section devoted to the theory of didactic teaching describes the current theory and issues of selected teaching methods and their possibilities of use in the classes and testing of functionality. The following historical part - interpretation, presents the issues of the history of the Slovak state with a focus on the elements that are subsequently applied in teaching. The second part of the work consists of the practical part itself, which focuses on the presentation of the curriculum. It is tested on students of two selected high school classes. The final part of the work contains a statistical evaluation of the prepared curriculum success.

Abstract:

Prekladaná magisterská diplomová práca je zameraná na využívanie moderných aktivizačných výukových metód vo výučbe dejepisu. Vybrané metódy, ktoré sú v rámci práce využité, sú predstavené na téme dejín Slovenského štátu v rokoch 1939-1945 s prepojením na súčasný stav v slovenskej politike a spoločnosti. Zameriava sa na prejavy nacionalizmu a extrémizmu vo vybranej historickej dobe a porovnáva ju s aktuálnou situáciou na Slovensku. Magisterská diplomová práca ma poukázať na súčasnú situáciu v spoločnosti a súčasne predniesť možnosti aktualizácie výuky dejepisu so zameraním na túto problematiku. Práca predkladá učebný plán s využitím vybraných moderných výukových metód, predstavuje ich funkcie a v dvoch variantoch ich testuje na študentoch vybraných dvoch tried strednej školy. Prezentovaná výuka má nasledovné didaktické ciele: schopnosť kriticky zhodnotiť historické udalosti a hodnotiť ich v najvyššej možnej objektivite, zároveň šíriť povedomie o možnostiach rôznorodej interpretácie historických udalostí, schopnosť kriticky hodnotiť informácie a schopnosť si overiť ich pravdivosť (prierezová téma – mediálna výuka), prezentovať povedomie o zneužívaní a dezinterpretácii historických udalostí. Celá práca je rozdelená do dvoch veľkých celkov. Prvý celok tvorí teoretická časť, ktorá obsahuje teóriu didaktickej výučby a historické interpretácie vybraného obdobia. Časť venovaná teórii didaktickej výučby popisuje súčasnú teóriu a problematiku vybraných výukových metód a ich možnosti využitia na hodinách a testovania funkcionality. Nasledovná historická časť – interpretácia, prezentuje problematiku dejín Slovenského štátu so zameraním na prvky, ktoré sú následne aplikované vo výučbe. Druhý celok práce tvorí samotná praktická časť, ktorá sa zameriava na predstavenie učebného plánu. Ten je otestovaný na študentoch vybraných dvoch stredoškolských tried. Finálna časť práce obsahuje štatistické vyhodnotenie úspešnosti pripravenej výuky.
