Repetitivní sekvence v genomu A. thaliana jsou zastoupené kodujícímí a nekodujícími sekvencemi. Příkladem kodujících repetitvních sekvencí muže být ribozomální DNA (rDNA), nekódující repetitivní sekvence tvoří centromery a telomery. Repetitive sequences in A. thaliana genome are represented by both coding sequences like ribosomal DNA (rDNA) repeats and non-coding sequences like centromeric or telomeric repeats. Ribosomal DNA encodes ribosomal RNA (rRNA) that is a crucial component of the ribosome, a basic unit of cellular translational machinery responsible for proteosynthesis.
