Generation Z motivating factors and their role in investing in cryptocurrencies

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je identifikovat motivační faktory při investování do kryptoměn generací Z v České republice. Nejdříve jsou motivační faktory prozkoumány pomocí literární rešerše primárních akademických zdrojů. Celkově je identifikováno šest motivačních faktorů: finanční zisky, vliv třetích strany, technologie a ideologie, osobní faktory, lítost a makroekonomické prostředí. S jednotlivými motivačními faktory jsou v praktické části kontrolovány i vlivy demografických údajů. Faktory jsou ověřovány v praktické části pomocí modelování strukturálních rovnic s přístupem SAM s využitím dat z dotazníkového šetření. Z výsledných dat vyšly finanční zisky, technologie a ideologie a lítost jako významně ovlivňující faktory při investování do kryptoměn generací Z.

Abstract:

The aim of this diploma thesis is to identify motivational factors for investing in cryptocurrencies by generation Z in the Czech Republic. First, motivational factors are explored using a literature review of primary academic sources. Overall, six motivational factors are identified: financial gains, third-party influence, technology and ideology, personal factors, regret, and the macroeconomic environment. With individual motivational factors, the effects of demographic data are also checked in the practical part. The factors are verified in the practical part using structural equation modeling with the SAM approach using data from a questionnaire survey. From the resulting data, financial gains, technology and ideology, and regret emerged as significant influencing factors in Gen Z investing in cryptocurrencies.
