The Availability of Biological Therapy for Non-small Cell Lung Cancer that is not covered by health insurance

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou reálné dostupností nehrazené biologické léčby u onemocnění nemalobuněčného karcinomu plic s přestavbou genu ALK. Cílem práce je představit tento problém a zmapovat, jak ve snaze o získání nehrazených léků byli pacienti vybraného centra úspěšní. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části, část teoretickou a část průzkumnou. Teoretická část představuje informace k onemocnění, novým možnostem léčby, problematice úhrad léku na našem území a mnohdy problematickou dikci §16 ze zákona č. 48/1997 Sb. Průzkumná část se skládá ze tří kvalitativních průzkumných metod tak, aby bylo možné nabídnout skutečně hloubkový pohled do této problematiky. Bakalářská práce ukazuje, jak složité může být obstarání takového léku, který nemá stanovenou úhradu. A to i přesto, že se dá očekávat obrovský profit z užívání takového léku pro pacienta.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis deals with the real availability of unpaid biological treatment in non-small cell lung cancer diseases with a conversion of the ALK gene. The aim of the thesis is to map how successful patients have been in obtaining unpaid medicines. The thesis is divided into two parts, the theoretical part and the exploratory part. The theoretical part represents information on the disease, new treatment options, the issue of reimbursement of the drug in our territory and often problematic diction of §16 of act no. 48/1997 Coll. The exploratory part consists of three qualitative exploratory methods so that it is possible to offer a truly in-depth view of this issue. The bachelor's thesis shows how difficult it can be to procure such a drug that does not have a fixed reimbursement. This is despite the fact, that one can expect a huge therapeutic benefit from taking such a drug for the patient.
