Autostereotype and Heterostereotype in the Roles of a Husband and a Wife

Anotace:

Cílem diplomové práce bylo popsat, jaké se objevují stereotypy rolí manžela a manželky u mužů a žen. V první části se práce zabývá charakteristikou role manžela a manželky, maskulinitou a feminitou, které s těmito rolemi souvisí. Teoretická část se také blíže zaměřuje na manželství a jeho oblasti, které mohou být zdrojem problémů v manželství. Nároky na nositele rolí manžela a manželky mohou být popsány očekávaným chováním v těchto oblastech manželství. Výzkum sestává z 16 rozhovorů (se 4 svobodnými, 4 vdanými ženami, se 4 svobodnými a 4 ženatými muži). Na základě nich práce popisuje, jak muži a ženy vnímají roli manžela a roli manželky. Sleduje rozdíly ve vnímání těchto rolí, které se u mužů a žen v rozhovorech objevily. Došlo také ke srovnání názorů svobodných a vdaných/ženatých respondentů. Práce charakterizuje zjištěné stereotypy v roli manžela a manželky i souhrnně. Výsledky jsou srovnávané s teorií a výzkumy na podobná témata.

Abstract:

The goal of this diploma thesis is to describe the stereotypes which appear in the roles of husbands and wives. The first part of the thesis deals with the characteristics of the roles of a husband and a wife, and masculinity and femininity which are directly related to these roles. The theoretical part is closely focused on a marriage, and especially on the areas that may be the source of difficulties in the marriage. The study consists of sixteen dialogues / with four single and four married women, four single and four married men/. Based on these dialogues the thesis describes how men and women perceive the role of a husband and a wife. It monitors the differences in perception of these roles, which appeared in the dialogues. The thesis compares the opinions of single and married respondents, and also characterizes discovered stereotypes in the roles of a husband and a wife. The outcomes are compared both with the theory and research on a similar topic.
