The role of a teaching assistant in a primary school classroom

Anotace:

This thesis aims to explore the multifaceted roles and functions of teaching assistants (TAs) in primary school settings, seeking to determine the extent to which their overall role is beneficial. Using a qualitative research method, this study provides insights into the crucial role that TAs play in primary schools, which could inform future policy and practice in supporting teaching assistants' roles and functions. In the theoretical part, the author included information about the teaching assistant, background, role formulation, characteristics, and types of pupils that can have a TA, and roles and responsibilities. Results indicate that teaching assistants offer significant support to classroom teachers.
