This thesis provides a closer look into the geopolitical conflict known as the Cold War and how the United States wanted to maintain the status quo in the world post-WWII. In the beginning it briefly describes the conflict, the reasons why it happened and what were the first steps the United States decided to make towards stopping the communism.
