Awareness of pregnant women about gestational diabetes mellitus

Abstract:

Abstrakt Úvod: Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou gestačního diabetu. Gestační diabetes mellitus je porucha metabolismu glukózy různého stupně. Objevuje se v těhotenství a v průběhu šestinedělí spontánně odezní (Krejčí, 2017). Cíl: Hlavním cílem této bakalářské práce bylo zjistit, zda je častější výskyt GDM u primipar nebo multipar. Stanovené dílčí cíle: zjistit, zda jsou těhotné ženy informovány o GDM onemocnění, možnosti odmítnutí testu na oGTT, zda těhotné ženy vědí o možnosti odmítnutí tohoto testu. Metodika: Pro sběr dat jsem zvolila kvantitativní dotazníkové šetření, které probíhalo ve dvou formách. První forma probíhala online dotazníkovým šetřením po celé České republice. Druhá forma probíhala dotazníkovým šetřením v tištěné podobě v Gynekologické ambulanci ve Velkém Šenově. Dotazník se skládá z 23 otázek, z nichž 3 otázky byly s otevřenou možností odpovědi, dále 5 s možností více odpovědí a zbylé uzavřené. Byl určen pro těhotné ženy od 28 těhotenského týdne do porodu. Sběr dat byl uskutečněn v období listopadu - prosince 2020. Po skončení tohoto období jsem obdržela celkem 182 dotazníků, které byly kompletně vyplněny. Dotazníky jsem vyhodnotila prostřednictvím programu Microsoft Excel a následně vytvořila grafy a tabulky. Výsledky: K vyhodnocení bylo celkem 182 vyplněných dotazníků, z nichž jsem následně v programu Microsoft Excel vytvořila grafy a tabulky, které jsou prezentovány v této práci. Výsledky získané díky kvantitativnímu dotazníkovému šetření potvrdily, že GDM onemocnění postihuje více multipary. Výsledky také potvrdily, že těhotné ženy jsou dobře informovány o GDM a o provedení OGTT testu. Znepokojující je zjištění, že těhotné ženy nejsou informovány o možnosti odmítnutí tohoto vyšetření. Závěr: Z uvedeného šetření vyplývá, že gestační diabetes mellitus postihuje více multipary než primipary. Výsledky také potvrdily, že těhotné ženy jsou dobře informovány o GDM onemocnění a provedení oGTT testu. Výsledky se shodují s odbornou literaturou. Informace o postihnutí GDM v těhotenství by měla zůstat uvedena v osobní anamnéze, protože těhotnou ženu je nutno sledovat další šest měsíců po porodu.

Abstract:

Summary Introduction: This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of gestational diabetes. Gestational diabetes mellitus is a disorder of glucose metabolism of various degrees. It occurs during pregnancy and disappears spontaneously during the sixth week (Krejčí, 2017). Aim: The main aim of this bachelor thesis was to determine whether GDM is more common in primiparous or multiparous. Sub-objectives set: to find out whether pregnant women are informed about GDM, the possibility to refuse the oGTT test, whether pregnant women know about the possibility of refusing this test. Methodology: For data collection I chose a quantitative questionnaire survey, it took place in two forms, the first form took place online questionnaire survey throughout the Czech Republic, the second questionnaire survey in printed form in the gynecological clinic in Velký Šenov. The questionnaire consists of 23 questions, of which 3 were with the possibility of open answers and 3 with the possibility of more answers and the rest closed. It was intended for pregnant women from 28 weeks of gestation until delivery. Data collection took place in the period November - December 2020. The total number of completed questionnaires was 182, which I evaluated using Microsoft Excel and then created graphs and tables. Results: A total of 182 questionnaries were completed. Subsequently, graphs and tables were created in Microsoft Excel, which are presented in this work. The results obtained from the quantitative questionnaire survey confirm that GDM disease is more common in multiparous. The results also confirmed that pregnant women are well informed about GDM and performing the OGTT test. As a worrying result, it turned out that pregnant women did not know about the possibility of refusing the examination. Conclusion: The above investigation shows that gestational diabetes mellitus affects more multiparous than primiparous. The results also confirmed that pregnant women are well informed about GDM and performing an oGTT test. The results agree with the literature. Information on GDM in pregnancy should remain in the personal history, as the pregnant woman should be monitored for another six months after delivery.
