Analysis of the Czech Tourism Activities since its Foundation to the Present Times

Abstract:

Tématem diplomové práce je analýza vývoje činnosti agentury CzechTourism od doby jejího vzniku po současnost. Cíl tedy představuje zhodnocení změn zavedených v agentuře CzechTourism od doby jejího vzniku po současnost. K dosažení předem stanoveného cíle byla použita analýza především výroční zpráv agentury CzechTourism, které jsou k nalezení na oficiálních stránkách agentury. V práci jsou porovnané patrné změny za jednotlivé roky. Na závěr práce také shrnuje celkovou situaci a vývoj agentury CzechTourism od doby jejího vzniku po současnost. Ze zjištěných výsledků je patrné, že CzechTourism představuje velmi významnou a prosperující agenturu, která hraje důležitou roli v oblasti cestovního ruchu. Její význam v propagování České republiky na trhu domácím i zahraničním se neustále vyvíjí a zaznamenává pozitivní výsledky. Současně však z práce vyplývá fakt, že při dané výši příspěvku ze státního rozpočtu má agentura příliš velký rozsah, a tudíž pak nemůže být dosaženo zcela úplné efektivity a propracovanosti v konkrétních činnostech. Změny by se tedy měly týkat nejenom lepší propagace samotné agentury CzechTourism, ale zároveň také zúžení činorodosti agentury. V neposlední řadě jsou v práci uvedené i doporučení, týkající se dobrovolného spolufinancování soukromých subjektů, jež by také řešily potřebné finance k tak velkému rozsahu činnosti.

Abstract:

The topic of this thesis is to analyze the CzechTourism agency’s from when it was founded to the present time. The objective is to evaluate the changes introduced in the CzechTourism agency from the time it was founded. The annual reports of the CzechTourism agency, which can be found on the official website, were used to achieve the set objectives. The paper compares noticeable changes for individual years. Finally, we also review the overall situation and development of the CzechTourism agency from the time it was founded till the present time. From the results we obtained it is evident that the CzechTourism is a very important and thriving agency which plays an important role in tourism. Its importance in promoting the Czech Republic to the domestic and foreign market continues to evolve and record positive results. At the same time, the analysis shows that thanks to contributions from the state budget, the agency has grown so large, that it cannot achieve full efficiency and potential in specific activities. Changes should therefore cover not only better promotion of the CzechTourism agency itself, but also the narrowing of industry. Lastly, recommendations addressing the financing of private voluntary organizations are also included in the paper, and could potentially solve the need to finance such a large range of activities.
