Music culture of Příbor in the 19th century

Abstract:

Podstatou této bakalářské práce je zmapování hudebně kulturního provozu města Příbora během období dlouhého 19. století. Speciální pozornost je věnována hudebním inventářům a farním účtům zdejšího kostela Narození Panny Marie. Práce také nabízí bližší pohled na historii varhan ve zdejších kostelech. Druhým, neméně důležitým bodem je městský hudební provoz a hudební výuka. Tato část se zaměřuje na osoby, jejichž život souvisel s hudebním rozvojem města. Závěrečná kapitola charakterizuje příborskou lidovou píseň, její sběratele a speciálně pak písně o sv. Valentinu.

Abstract:

The essence of this bachelor's thesis is to process gathered information about Příbor music culture during the long 19th century. Special attention is paid to the musical inventories and parish accounts of the local Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary. The work also offers a closer look at the history of the organ in the local churches. The second, equally important point is the urban music production and musical education. In this part, thesis deals with people whose lives were connected with the musical development of the city. The final chapter describes Příbor folk song, its collectors and especially songs about st Valentin.
