Self Concept of the Romany in the Romany Folk Literature

Abstract:

Autorka překládá dizertační práci s cílem porozumět sebepojetí Romů prostřednictvím hodnot a reflexe konstrukce smysluplnosti existenciálních témat v romských pohádkách a interpretovat je z hlediska jejich možného využití sociálními pracovníky a pracovnicemi v práci s romskou minoritou. V textu jsou konceptualizovány témata pozdně moderní společnosti a jejích hodnot, dále oblast reflexe lidské osoby v pojetí humanismu a existencialismu ve 20. století, se speciální zaměřením na sebeaktualizaci člověka a jeho seberealizaci, kteou autorka této poráce vnímá jako “bytí s druhými“. Studie se zabývá důkladně také charakteristikou životní situace Romů, specielně chudobou a obsáhle hodnotami Romů. Je pojednána problematika lidové slovesnost a pohádek, včetně romských pohádek. Ve zvolené kvalitativní výzkumné strategii metodologického přístupu obsahové analýzy byly analyzovány romské pohádky podle identifikovaných indikátorů, hodnot Romů, které tvoří jejich sebepojetí. V závěru práce jsou diskutovány zjištění, a navrhovány konkrétní opatření do praxe sociální práce, např. vytvoření projektu Local Romany hero – Romský hrdina.

Abstract:

The author presents her dissertation project with the goal to understand self concept of the Romany through their values and through the reflection of construction of meaningfulness of existential themes in the Romany fairy tales. Then she will interpret the the Romany fairy tales from the point of their application by the social workers with the work with the Romany minority. In the essay, there is conceptualized the thesis of late modern society and their values, field of reflection of human person by the humanism and existentialism of 20. century, with special focus on self actualization ans self realization of man, which is, by the author of the thesis perceived as „being with others“ The thesis concerns with characteristic of living situation of the Romany, especially by the poverty and with the values of the Romany. There is dealt with folk literature, included the Romany fairy tales. In the chosen qualitative research strategy of methodological approach of the content analysis there were analyzed the Romany fairy tales according to identified indicators: which were values of the Romany which create their self concept. In the conclusion of the thesis there are discussed findings and suggested concrete steps in in the field of social work, f. E. creation of project The Local Romany hero.
