The development of the Archaeological Museum and Historical Museum in Bratislava in 1969-1989

Abstract:

The thesis is theoretically and analytically focused. It aims to provide a complex review of development of the Archaeological Museum and the Historical Museum in Bratislava in the period between 1969 and 1989. The topic is elaborated through an analysis of activities of these institutions. In the mentioned time period they were presented as institutes of the Slovak National Museum. One part of the theoretical framework is a chapter about museum work in Slovakia in the sixties of the twentieth century. Events that took place in that period had a significant influence on further development of the museums. The majority of the thesis is compiled of chapters which illustrate organisation, premises and equipment of the studied museums. The chapters describe scientific research activities, exhibition, cultural and educational activities of museums in the intentions of that time period. The goal of this work is to highlight the development of the historical and archaeological section of the Slovak National Museum in the studied time period.

Abstract:

Magisterská diplomová práca má teoreticko-analytický charakter. Jej cieľom je priniesť komplexný prehľad rozvoja Archeologického múzea a Historického múzea v Bratislave v rokoch 1969 – 1989. Spracovanie danej problematiky sa uskutočňuje na základe analýzy činností oboch historických inštitúcií, ktoré v sledovanom období fungovali ako ústavy Slovenského národného múzea. Súčasťou teoretického rámca je kapitola o slovenskom múzejníctve v šesťdesiatych rokoch 20. storočia. Udalosti, ktoré sa uskutočnili v tomto období, výrazne ovplyvnili ďalšie smerovanie sledovaných múzeí. Ústrednou zložkou práce sú kapitoly, ktoré explikujú organizáciu a priestorové vybavenie múzeí, odborné aktivity, vedecko-výskumnú, výstavnú a kultúrno-výchovnú činnosť v intenciách danej doby. Zámerom práce je poukázať na rozvoj historického a archeologického úseku Slovenského národného múzea v skúmanom časovom období.
