Abstract:
V ľudskej populácii patria rôzne formy rakoviny k najčastejším príčinám úmrtí. Preto sa látky schopné inhibovať rast rakovinových buniek stali predmetom intenzívneho výskumu. Niekoľko členov rodiny protoberberínových alkaloidov preukázalo schopnosť viazať sa na DNA rakovinových buniek a spustiť ich apoptózu. Okolo spôsobu ich väzby na DNA však panuje mnoho nejasností. Abstract:
Various forms of cancer are among the leading causes of death in human population. Thus substances that can inhibit the growth of cancer cells are the subjects of intensive research. Several members of protoberberine family of alkaloids were shown to possess the ability to bind the DNA of cancer cell and trigger its apoptosis.
