Abstract:

Hlavním cílem této diplomové práce je posoudit účinnost aplikace Wiki z hlediska přínosu pro výuku slovní zásoby. Tato práce se rovněž zabývá postoji, které studenti k Wiki mají a ukazuje, jak je možné Wiki do výuky zapojit. Významnou součástí této práce je výzkum, který byl provedený na střední škole. V rámci výzkumného projektu bylo použito metody tzv. smíšené učení, kdy byla kombinována tradiční výuka ve třídě s online projektem ve Wiki. Výzkum prokázal, pozitivní vliv Wiki na učení žáků podpořil myšlenku, že informačních a komunikační technologie by se měly stát nedílnou součástí dnešní výuky.

Abstract:

The main aim of this thesis is to examine the effectiveness of a wiki environment as an example of the quickly emerging technology in terms of students’ vocabulary learning. It also discusses students ‘attitude towards wikis and shows how applicable wikis with ESL learners are. An important part of this thesis is a research carried out at a secondary school. In the research project, an established face-to-face class was blended with online learning via the creation of a wiki. The research has revealed positive effect on students’ learning students’ learning and supported the claim that information and communication technologies should be an integral part of language teaching.
