Treatment of dangerous waste in Uherske Hradiste

Abstract:

Výrazná populační exploze v posledních desetiletích přivedla do třetího tisíciletí na Zem více jak 6 miliard obyvatel, do roku 2050 se odhaduje nárůst na 15 miliard. Z tohoto výpočtu logicky vyplývá také extrémní nárůst odpadového materiálu. Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na nebezpečný odpad, a to na území Uherského Hradiště. Během výzkumu byly zmapovány významné zdroje nebezpečných odpadů a místa sloužící k jejich odkládání. Dále byla zkoumána produkce těchto odpadů. Samostatná kapitola pak byla věnována povědomí obyvatel o dané problematice. Během výzkumu bylo zjištěno, že hlavním původcem nebezpečných odpadů jsou průmyslová odvětví a domácnosti. Nebezpečný odpad je odebírán ve třech hlavních sběrných dvorech a dvakrát ročně mobilním sběrem v jednotlivých oblastech obce. Celková produkce nebezpečných odpadů je 51,04 t/rok (rok 2004), což je 0,5 % z celkové produkce odpadů v obci. Nejvýznamnějším nebezpečným odpadem je olověný akumulátor, jehož nejvyšší množství bylo naměřeno v roce 2004, a to 25,19 t/rok. V rámci dotazníkového šetření bylo zjištěno, že 40 % respondentů odpady třídí, 50,5 % částečně a 5,5 % dotazovaných odpady netřídí. Celých 41 % respondentů nepovažuje léky a léčiva za nebezpečný odpad. Téměř 18 % dotazovaných uvedlo,že odkládá nebezpečný odpad do popelnice pro komunální odpad a 59,8 % dotazovaných nemá tušení jak je s tímto druhem odpadu dále nakládáno. Výsledky této studie ukazují vzrůstající trend v množství vyprodukovaných nebezpečných odpadů. Dlouhodobější pokles byl zaznamenán pouze u olověných akumulátorů. Výsledky dotazníkového šetření ukázaly spíše pozitivní přístup občanů k třídění odpadů, avšak jejich znalost v oblasti nebezpečných odpadů je na velmi nízké úrovni. Je proto žádoucí, aby výzkum v oblasti problematiky nebezpečných odpadů dále pokračoval a byl analyzován v delším časovém období, a to nejen na území Uherského Hradiště

Abstract:

A strong population explosion of the last decades has raised the number of the inhabitants of the Earth. The third millennium started with more than six billions and, for the year 2050, further increase is estimated reaching up to fifteen billions. Analogically, an extreme amount of waste can be expected. This bachelor thesis focuses on hazardous waste in the area of the town of Uherské Hradiště. Important sources of hazardous waste and the sites for their collection have been mapped and the production of the waste has been analyzed during the research. Separate chapter deals with the citizens and their awareness of the issue. The research has shown that the main producer of hazardous waste is industry and private households. Hazardous waste is collected at three main sites permanently and twice a year by a mobile collector in particular districts. Overall production of hazardous waste is 51,04 tons per year (2004), which is 0,5 % of the total waste production of the town. The most significant hazardous waste representative is lead accumulator, whose highest amount is 25,19 tons per year (2004). The questionnaire revealed that 40 % of respondents do sort waste; 50,5 % partly; and 5,5 % do not. 41 % of respondents do not consider medicaments and pharmaceutical chemicals dangerous. Nearly 18 % of them dispose hazardous waste in communal garbage cans and 59,8 % have no idea how this sort of waste is further processed. Results of this research point out an increasing trend in the amount of waste produced. Long term decrease is noted only with lead accumulators. Results of the questionnaire display rather positive approach of the citizens to waste sorting. However, their knowledge in the field of hazardous waste is poor. It is, therefore, vital that the research dealing with hazardous waste continues and is analyzed within a longer period of time
