The work deals with the life of the last but one Emperor of the Habsburg monarchy Francis Joseph I and his relationship to the Czech lands. Its composition is not chronological but thematical with the emphasis on the important political, social, cultural and economical event and changes, which had impact on the evolution of the monarchy.
