Plautine comedy in the film
Abstract:
Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje analýze filmu A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum a jeho porovnání s Plautovými komediemi Pseudolus, Mostellaria, Miles Gloriosus, Poenulus a Casina, kterými se autoři inspirovali. Snahou je představit ustálené Plautovy postavy, najít stěžejní momenty děje, porovnat jejich společné prvky a detailně je rozebrat.
Abstract:
This bachelor thesis deals with analysis of a film "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" and its comparison with Plautus‘s comedies Pseudolus, Mostellaria, Miles Gloriosus, Poenulus and Casina by which the authors were inspired. This thesis introduces Plautine stock characters used in the film, ascertains the pivotal points of the plot, compares the common elements and analyses them in detail …more
