Degradation Process of Railway Turnout

Abstract:

Rozvoj železniční dopravy je spojen se zvyšováním provozní rychlosti, zatížení na nápravu a vzrůstajícím objemem přepravy. Při tomto trendu se zvyšují požadavky na spolehlivost a na kvalitu součástí železničního svršku. Volba vhodného typu materiálu či typu konstrukčního řešení podstatně ovlivňuje životnost a spolehlivost součástí na železniční trati. Výhybkové konstrukce jsou nedílnou součástí železniční dopravní cesty, vzhledem k jejich specifické a konstrukční náročnosti jsou i jedním z určujících faktorů spolehlivosti železniční dopravní cesty jako celku. Na kontaktních plochách částí výhybky dochází k opakovaným plastickým deformacím, které časem vedou k vyčerpání plasticity povrchové vrstvy a vzniku kontaktně - únavových vad. Preferovaným technicko-ekonomickým přínosem je řešení, kdy je navýšena cena za kvalitativně lepší železniční výhybkovou konstrukci v oblasti investičních nákladů a snížena v provozních a údržbových nákladech. Vyhodnocení faktorů, ovlivňujících degradační procesy na železniční výhybce, je základním předpokladem pro popis degradace celé železniční tratě a s tím i pro efektivní postupy pro její návrh a údržbu. Práce se zabývá analýzou mezních stavů a mechanismů poškozování různých variant materiálů. Materiálové analýzy provozního poškozování, spolu se statistickým vyhodnocením provozních dat sloužily pro verifikaci výsledků provedených experimentů.

In this trend there are increasing demands for reliability and quality of the parts of whole superstructure. Selection of a appropriate type of material or the type of structural solution substantially affects the service life and reliability of components on the railway track. Turnouts are an integral part of the railway infrastructure, due to their specific and structural sophistications are one of the determining factors of the reliability of the whole railway infrastructure. The upper parts of the turnouts surfaces leads to the repeated plastic deformations, which eventually leads to exhaustion of the plasticity of surface layers and creation of contact - fatigue defects. Substantial technical and economic benefit is a solution where is the increased price for a better quality of the railway turnouts in the area of the investment costs and reduced in operational and maintenance costs. By defining the factors which affecting the degradation processes in the railway turnout, quantification of potential defects and the negative consequences that may occur along with an analysis of limit damage conditions and mechanisms of various structures of the materials compared with the statistical data of traffic is essential for accurate definition of the overall degradation of the whole railway track and with this to define effective procedures for the design and maintenance.
