Animalisaton in Selected Works from French Literature of 19th Century

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the animalisation of characters in the French literature of 19th century. This thesis is divided into two parts; the first part presents the definition of the concept of animalisation, its usage and also we present the occurance of animalisation in literature and in fine arts. In the second part, we selected three literary works from 19th century which we analysed on the basis of animalisation. Those are A Simple Heart from Gustav Flaubert, Thérese Raquin from Emile Zola and The Songs of Maldoror from Lautréamont.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá animalizací postav ve francouzské literatuře 19. století. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části, První z nich představuje pojem animalizace, její využití a výskyt v literatuře a jiných odvětví umění. V druhé části byla vybrána 3 díla z francouzské literatury 19. století, které jsme analyzovali na základě využití animalizace. Těmito díly jsou Prosté srdce od Gustava Flauberta, Tereza Raquinová od Emila Zoly a Zpěvy Maldororovy od Lautréamonta.
