Educating parents and home exercises as an important part of a successful pleoptic and orthoptic treatment of children

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce s názvem "Edukace rodičů a domácí cvičení jako významná součást pleopticko-ortoptické léčby dětí" se zabývá důležitostí poskytování edukace a podpory rodinám dětí poruchami binokulárního vidění. Práce představuje roli ortoptistů v multidisciplinárním týmu a jejich úkolu v edukaci rodičů o provádění domácího cvičení. Záměrem práce je poskytnout ortoptistům vhled do procesu edukace rodičů a poskytnout jim nástroje pro úspěšné aplikování této edukace v praxi. První kapitola definuje ortoptiku jako obor, vysvětluje roli ortoptisty v týmu péče o děti se zrakovými vadami a představuje pleoptickou a ortoptickou terapii v kontextu domácích cvičení. Druhá kapitola se věnuje teoretickým východiskům k edukaci dospělých, zatímco třetí kapitola se zaměřuje na konkrétní metody edukace rodičů v kontextu léčby dětí s pleopticko-ortoptickou léčbou. Poslední kapitola se zabývá požadavky na domácí léčebné alternativy, včetně bezpečnosti a účinnosti domácího cvičení. Práce má za cíl poskytnout ortoptistům teoretické znalosti a praktické nástroje pro úspěšné vedení edukace rodičů a obsahuje příklady vhodných aktivit pro domácí cvičení.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis entitled "Education of parents and home exercises as an impor-tant part of pleoptic-orthoptic treatment of children" deals with the importance of providing education and support to families of children with binocular vision disorders. This work presents the role of orthoptists in a multidisciplinary team and their task in educating parents about performing home exercises. The aim of this work is to provide orthoptists with an insight into the process of parent education and to provide them with tools for successful application of this education in practice. The first chapter defines orthoptics as a field, explains the role of the orthoptist in the care team for children with visual impairments, and introduces pleoptic and orthoptic therapy in the context of home exercises. The second chapter is devoted to the theoretical starting points for educating adults, while the third chapter focuses on specific methods of educating parents in the context of treating children with pleoptic-orthoptic treatment. The final chapter addresses requirements for home treatment alternatives, including the safety and effectiveness of home exercise. The work aims to provide orthoptists with theoretical knowledge and practical tools for successful parent education and includes examples of suitable activities for home practice.
