Regional development in the context of Edgar M. Hoover’s theory

Abstract:

Předmětem bakalářské práce Regionální rozvoj v kontextu teorie Edgara M. Hoovera je v českém prostředí chybějící rešerše díla tohoto autora. První část představuje migraci a její vlastnosti, druhá část je věnována migraci v souvislosti s lokalizačními a stabilizačními procesy měst a regionů. Třetí část osvětluje vztah populačního a ekonomického vývoje zemí s nízkými příjmy, jejichž širší aplikovatelnost je obsahem části čtvrté. První polovinu práce doplňuji porovnáními, komentáři a daty z českého prostředí, druhá polovina je doplněna informacemi o skutečném vývoji Indie. V závěru hodnotím shodnost autorových teoretických předpokladů s nálezy skutečnosti a shrnuji podstatné body celé práce.

Abstract:

This bachelor paper’s aim is to provide a literature study in Czech of Regional development in the context of Edgar M. Hoover‘s theory and is based on this author’s publications. Firstly, migration and its many aspects are looked at, followed by an analysis of migration and localising and stabilising processes in cities and regions. Subsequently, the correlation between the demographic and economic development of low-wage countries is examined. Practical applications of this relationship are discussed in the fourth part of this paper. The first section is occassionally supplemented with Czech statistical data, whereas the second section contains information on India’s development. Conclusively, the consistency in the author’s theoretical hypotheses is assessed and compared to reality and the essence of the paper is summarized.
