Abstract:

Tato studie se snažila prozkoumat bankovní zvyklosti mileniálů, kteří jsou považováni za specifickou generaci při provádění bankovních transakcí. Za účelem provedení tohoto výzkumu byl rozeslán dotazník, který se skládal z několika otázek týkajících se bankovních návyků mileniálů na internetu. Jinak řečeno, bylo nutné prozkoumat návyky v oblasti online bankovnictví, jako je používání aplikací mobilních bank, internetových bankovnictví, bankomatů a platforem pro online investice nebo kryptoměny. Výsledky dotazníku byly poté analyzovány a prezentovány v různých tabulkách, grafech a diagramech. V návaznosti na to bylo provedeno několik osobních rozhovorů, jejichž cílem bylo informovat o překážkách v online bankovních transakcích u generace mileniálů. Studie ukázala, že mileniálové využívají online bankovní služby ke kontrole svých účtů, investování peněz, spoření, půjčkám a dalším službám a obecně k převodům peněz. Zejména spoření peněz bylo pro mileniály ze studie nejčastějším způsobem využití. Hned po spoření se ukázalo, že nejčastějším účelem při využívání služeb online bankovnictví je prohlížení účtu a investování peněz. Podle výsledků preferují mileniálové využívání digitálních platebních metod několikrát měsíčně. Většina z nich navíc ve svém životě nepoužívá žádné programy pro správu osobních financí, které by jim umožňovaly spravovat jejich finanční situaci. Výsledky rozhovorů navíc ukázaly, že ačkoli jsou kryptoměny v těchto dnech velmi populární, mileniálové o nich nemají dostatek informací a není to u nich častý bankovní zvyk, protože kryptoměny považují za rizikové a stresující. Z výsledků studie mohou těžit bankovní systémy, tvůrci bankovních služeb i pedagogové.

Abstract:

This study attempted to investigate the banking habits in millennials who were considered as a special generation in undertaking banking transactions. In order to conduct this research, the investigator of the study distributed a questionnaire consisted of multiple questions about the millennials’ online banking habits. Put it differently, he needed to explore online banking habits such as using mobile-bank applications, internet-banks, ATMs, and online investing or crypto-currencies platforms. Therefore, the results of the mentioned questionnaire were analyzed by the researcher through providing different tables, charts, and graphs. In line with this, several face to face interviews were done to report the obstacles in online banking transactions in the millennial generation. Findings of the study revelead that millenials use online banking services for checking their accounts, investing money, saving, loaning and other services, and money transfering in general. More particularly, saving money was the highest usage for millenials of the study. Following this, checking account and investing money were the most purposes for millenials during using online banking services. According to the results, they prefer to use digital payment methods several times a month. Moreover, most of them don’t use any personal finance management software programs in their life to manage their financial status. In addition, the results of the interview showed that, although cryptocurrencies are very popular these days, millennials do not have enough information about them and they don’t use them as a frequent banking habits since it is considered as a risky and stressful habit. Banking systems, banking service developers, and educators can benefit from the results of the study.
