Forming a relationship between parents and their preterm infants

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je reprezentovat problém utváření vztahu mezi rodiči a jejich předčasně narozenými dětmi. V teoretické části se zaměřuje na to, jaké mají rodiče a jejich děti po předčasném porodu podmínky pro vytváření vzájemného vztahu, čemu jsou vystaveni a na co musí reagovat. Zaměřuje se na faktory, které mohou mít na utváření vztahu k dítěti vliv. Rovněž předkládá, jak s rodiči předčasně narozených dětí a jejich dětmi pracují v zahraničí a co bylo výzkumně prokázáno jako prospěšné. V empirické části se pak snaží přiblížit, jaká je zkušenost konkrétních rodičů předčasně narozených dětí s utvářením vztahu k těmto dětem. Kvalitativní výzkumná studie byla zaměřena na rodiče, kterým se dítě narodilo předčasně, a to před 38. týdnem těhotenství, bez ohledu na pořadí narozeného dítěte. Dalším kritériem pro výběr respondentů byla horní hranice jednoho roku (korigovaného) věku dítěte a také to, aby rodiče žili s dítětem ve společné domácnosti. Studie se zúčastnily 4 ženy a 2 muži ve věku 27-32 let. Děti se narodily v rozmezí 30. až 33+6 t.t. Data získaná polostrukturovanými rozhovory byla zpracována pomocí zakotvené teorie. Ve výsledkové části lze nalézt naznačení modelu vytváření vztahu k dítěti v kontextu předčasného porodu a analytický vztah, který dává do souvislostí identifikované kategorie. Ve studii se ukazuje, že jestliže se rodiči předčasně narozeného dítěte nedostane vnější opory a nedaří se mu naplňovat jeho potřeby, projevuje se to negativně na jeho psychice a schopnosti a možnosti pečovat o dítě, což má negativní dopad na vytváření vztahu k němu.

Abstract:

The aim of this work is representative of the problem of creation of the relationship between parents and their children born prematurely. The theoretical part focuses on what are the conditions after premature birth for parents and their child, what they are exposed to and what they must respond. It focuses on factors that may have effect in shaping the relationship to the child. Also presents how are working with parents prematurely born children and with their children abroad and what was in researches established as beneficial. In the empirical part presents, what is the concrete experience of parents of preterm infants with shaping of the relationship between them and their child. Qualitative research study is focused on parents, which the child was born prematurely, before the 38th week of pregnancy, regardless of the order-born child. Another criterion for the selection of respondents was the upper limit of one year (corrected) age of the child and that the parents lived with the child in the household. The study took part in 4 women and 2 men aged 27-32 years. Children were born in range 30. - 33 + 6 gestation week. Data obtained from the partially structured interviews were analyzed using grounded theory. In the final section can be found the suggestion of the model shaping relationship between parent and child in the context of preterm labor and analytical relationship that links the identified category. The study shows that if parents of preterm child lacking external support and fails to fulfill its needs, it reflect negatively on his mental health and capacity to care for the child, which has a negative impact on the development of relationship for him.
