Influence of microclimate on the occurrence of rust (Puccinia ssp.) in selected turf grass species

Abstract:

Předkládaná disertační práce se zabývá monitoringem r. Puccinia u trávníkových trav, umělými infekcemi v různém prostředí a hodnocením odrůd. Cílem práce bylo stanovení spektra jednotlivých druhů Puccinia spp. v polních a laboratorních podmínkách u trávníkových druhů trav a v rámci skleníkových testů, kde probíhala umělá infekce, určit nejvhodnější metodu a stádium rostliny vhodné k infekci. Současně bylo sledováno mikroklima v různých teplotách, vlhkostech a prostředí. Hlavním cílem bylo zjistit, jaká umělá infekce je vhodná pro infikování trávníkových druhů trav v různém mikroklima, a jak jsou trávníkové druhy odolné vůči infekcím a přirozenému prostředí. Pro monitorování Puccinia graminis subsp. graminicola a Puccinia coronata f. sp. lolii bylo vybráno 35 odrůd od trávníkových druhů Lolium perenne L., Festuca rubra L., Festuca ovina L., Festuca rubra rubra a Festuca rubra trichophylla. Pro umělé infekce byly vybrány odrůdy Lolium perenne L. Umělé infekce byly aplikovány za pomocí agaru, minerálního oleje, vody se smáčedlem a talku.

Abstract:

This dissertation deals with the monitoring of Puccinia in turf grasses, artificial infections in different environments and evaluation of varieties. The objective of this thesis was to determine the spectrum of individual species of Puccinia spp. under field and laboratory conditions in grassland grasses, and in the context of greenhouse tests where artificial infection took place, identify the most suitable method and stage of the plant suitable for an infection. Furthermorethe microclimate was monitored at various temperatures, humidityand environments. The main objective was to establish which artificial infection is suitable for infecting turf grass species in variousmicroclimates and how the lawn species are resistant to infections and the natural environment. For monitoring Puccinia graminis subsp. graminicola of Puccinia coronata f. sp. lolii were selected from 35 species of turf species Lolium perenne L., Festuca rubra L., Festuca ovina L., Festuca rubra rubra and Festuca rubra trichophylla. Lolium perenne L. were selected for artificial infections. Artificial infections were applied with agar, mineral oil, water with surfactant and talcum.
