The Philosophy of Sartre and Camus in teaching French as a foreign language

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is a tutorial for an optional course of existential philosophy in the field of Teaching French for Secondary Schools at the University of West Bohemia. This work is intended for students of this Masters program, future teachers of French, who already have the appropriate language level of the French language B2-C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference. The aim of this course is to contribute to the knowledge of French culture and also to enrich students in terms of the language knowledge of the French language. In this paper we present methods that we consider appropriate, taking into account both the studied subject and the language level of students. The methods are presented with their pedagogical goals, advantages or disadvantages and an impact on the learning of the French language and existential philosophy as a part of French culture in the classes of F.L.E. (French as a foreign language). Here's the list of the methods: lecture of the professor, interpretation and translation of a philosophical text, discussion in the class, writing, realization of the drama. Each method is presented theoretically, we also propose a preliminary study plan, a teaching material both for teacher and student. We have also prepared e-learning course created for students for their self-study and practice.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce představuje výukovou příručku pro volitelný kurz existenciální filozofie pro obor Učitelství francouzštiny pro střední školy na Západočeské univerzitě. Tato práce je určena pro studenty tohoto magisterského programu, budoucí učitele francouzského jazyka, kteří již mají patřičnou jazykovou úroveň francouzštiny B2-C1 podle Společného evropského referenčního rámce. Cílem tohoto kurzu je přispět k dobré obeznámenosti s francouzskou kulturou a rovněž obohatit studenty z hlediska jazykových znalostí francouzského jazyka. V této práci jsou představeny metody, které považujeme za vhodné jak s přihlédnutím ke studované problematice, tak k jazykové úrovni studentů. Metody jsou představeny s jejich pedagogickými cíli, výhodami či nevýhodami a s dopadem na učení se francouzskému jazyku a existenciální filozofii jako součásti francouzské kultury v hodinách F.L.E (francouzštiny jako cizího jazyka). Prezentované metody jsou následující: výklad, interpretace textu, překlad, debata ve třídě, mluvený a psaný projev, inscenace části divadelní hry. Každá metoda je představena z teoretického hlediska, dále je navržen předběžný studijní plán, pedagogický materiál pro učitele a studenta. Připravili jsme rovněž online pedagogický blok vytvořený pro studenty za účelem samostudia a procvičování.
