Children with autism spectrum disorder and healthcare professionals

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá zdravotnickými pracovníky v primární péči, kteří poskytují odbornou péči dětem s poruchou autistického spektra. Zaměřuje se na úskalí spojená s ošetřením těchto dětí, na strategie, možnosti a postupy, kterých mohou zdravotníci využít, aby se přiblížili co nejvíce zdárnému cíli. V teoretické části jsou popsány poruchy autistického spektra, zdravotní a primární péče o děti a dorost, vývoj dětí a přístup zdravotníků k dětem s PAS. Je zaměřena především na přiblížení osobnosti dětí s poruchou autistického spektra, jak k nim přistupovat a tím docílit co nejkvalitnější zdravotní péče. V kvalitativním výzkumu empirické části se zabývá zkušenostmi a subjektivními poznatky zdravotníků v ordinacích praktických lékařů pro děti a dorost v primární péči v souvislosti s dětmi s PAS. Dále se zaměřuje na zvláštnosti v přístupu zdravotníků, na komplikace při vyšetřování a ošetřování a na způsoby motivace dětí s PAS.

Abstract:

In my bachelor thesis, I deal with medical staff in primary treatment who provide professional help to children suffering from autistic spectrum disorder. I focus on difficulties related to the treatment of these children; on strategies, possibilities and procedures the medical staff can use in order to achieve their goal. In the theoretical part, I describe autistic spectrum disorders, medical and primary treatment of children and teenagers, development of children and approach of medical staff to children with autistic spectrum disorder. I focus mainly on describing the personality of children with autistic spectrum disorder and on how to approach them in order to achieve the highest-quality medical treatment. In the qualitative research in the empirical part of the thesis, I deal with experience and subjective findings of the medical staff working for paediatricians and general practitioners taking care of teenagers in the primary treatment related to children suffering from autistic spectrum disorder. Also, I focus on specific approaches of medical staff, on complications during examination, and on possible ways to motivate children with autistic spectrum disorder.
