The evaluation of quality of life and functional independence measure in patients after total hip replacement

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with evaluation of quality of life and functional independence measure in patients after total hip replacement. To determine the patients’ quality of life we used SF- 36 questionnaire and for the evaluation of functional independence we used the FIM test (Functional Independence Measure). The aim of our study was to evaluate the changes in quality of life and in functional independence that appeared during the patients’ stay in DRO FNUSA in Brno (rehabilitation ward in the hospital). We wanted to determine whether the changes between men and women differ. The study reports the relation between the age and the SF- 36 questionnaire and the age and the FIM test. Finally we evaluated the dependence between the SF- 36 questionnaire and the FIM test. Tests were gathered at the beginning and at the end of patients’ stay in the rehabilitation ward and the results of our study showed the positive changes in quality of life and functional independence of patients after total hip replacement.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca sa zaoberá hodnotením kvality života a miery funkčnej sebestačnosti u pacientov po totálnej endoprotéze bedrového kĺbu. Pre hodnotenie kvality života bol zvolený dotazník SF- 36 a pre hodnotenie funkčnej sebestačnosti FIM test(Functional Independence Measure). Cieľom práce bolo zhodnotiť zmeny v kvalite života a vo funkčnej sebestačnosti, ktoré nastali počas pobytu v DRO FNUSA v Brne a zistiť či sa zmeny u mužov a u žien líšia. Rovnako práca podáva výsledky vzťahu medzi vekom a kvalitou života a vekom a mierou funkčnej sebestačnosti. Ďalej hodnotí závislosť dotazníka SF- 36 a testu funkčnej sebestačnosti- FIM. Testovanie prebehlo na začiatku a na konci pobytu na doliečovacom oddelení a výsledky práce ukázali pozitívne zmeny v kvalite života a v miere funkčnej sebestačnosti u pacientov po totálnej endoprotéze bedrového kĺbu.
