Diplomová práce se věnuje komplexní interpretaci vybraných próz Karla Pecky (Na co umírají muži, Motáky nezvěstnému) a Jiřího Stránského (Štěstí). Součástí práce je mimo uvedení do dobového kontextu zachycení podoby vězeňství po roce 1948 spolu s jeho působením na člověka, zobrazení dopadů komunistické moci na českou literaturu nebo pokus o vymezení termínu „vězeňská literatura“.
