Analysis of selected invasive plants distribution on territory of Bystrc (city of Brno)

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je věnována vybraným druhům invazivních druhů rostlin, konkrétně křídlatce japonské (Reynoutria japonica), křídlatce sachalinské (Reynoutria sachalinensis) a netýkavce žláznaté (Impatiens glandulifera). Tyto neofyty byly zmapovány, jako zájmová oblast výzkumu byla vybrána městská část Brno – Bystrc a její blízké okolí. Analyzován byl výskyt a rozšíření daných druhů, zkoumány byly také vazby lokalit na abiotické faktory. Součástí práce je i návrh managementu lokalit, fyzickogeografické charakteristiky a historie zájmového území a informace o vybraných invazivních druzích rostlin. V zájmovém území bylo nalezeno 43 lokalit, křídlatka japonská rostla na 21 lokalitách, netýkavka žláznatá na 22. Křídlatka sachalinská se vyskytovala pouze na dvou místech. Netýkavka žláznatá rostla bez výjimky podél vodních toků, většina byla vázána na potok Vrbovec. Naopak výskyt obou druhů křídlatek úzce souvisel s antropogenní činností, lokality byly nalezeny poblíž kompostů, narušených břehů vodních toků, zahrádek či lidských obydlí. Součástí práce byl i sběr půdních vzorků potřebných pro statistickou analýzu, čemuž předcházel výzkum v laboratoři, kde byla změřena půdní vlhkost, půdní reakce a minerální bohatost půd, v terénu byl zjištěn faktor světlo, typ koryta a nadmořská výška lokalit. Vztah těchto proměnných k rozšíření invazivních druhů rostlin byl popsán pomocí statistických metod

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with selected invasive plants, namely the Japanese knotweed (Reynoutria japonica), Giant knotweed (Reynoutria sachalinensis) and Himalayan balsam (Impatiens glandulifera). These neophytes were mapped in a research area which was located in the Brno – Bystrc city district and in its immediate environs. Location and distribution of mentioned species were analysed, connection between localities and abiotic factors were studied too. This thesis contains also management project of these localities, physical geography characteristics and history of the area as well as important information on mentioned invasive species. There were 43 localities found in this area, Japanese knotweet being present in 21 localities, Himalayan balsam in 22. Giant knotweed was found in 2 spots only. The Himalayan balsam occured along watercourses exclusively, most of the localities being connected with the Vrbovec creek. On the other hand, the location of Knotweeds was closely related with human activity, the localities being found next to composts, corrupted river banks, allotment gardens and human residences. The collection of soil samples necessary for a statistic analysis was a part of this bachelor thesis too, preceeded by a laboratory research measuring soil moisture, soil reactions and mineral content of soils. During field mapping the light factor, type of riverbed and altitude of localities were studied. Relation of these variables to invasive plants distribution was described by means of statistic methods.
