Abstract:

Předmětem disertační práce je zkoumání pojmu umělec - kurátor v rámci vývoje českého vizuálního umění od roku 2000 po současnost. Po nástupu Webu 2.0 se fyzické a virtuální rozhraní začalo rovnocenně dělit o pozornost ve většině každodenních úkonů a s tím s se proměnil i přístup k tvorbě, distribuci a percepci vizuálních materiálů. V důsledku toho se v současném uměleckém prostředí posouvají a stírají hranice mezi teorií a uměleckou praxí, prohlubují se vztahy mezi uměním a exaktními i humanitními vědními obory a zrychluje/rozšiřuje se komunikace/participace na mnoha úrovních. Umělecké dílo kromě své klasické materiální stránky získává taktéž hodnotu čisté digitální informace, z čehož vychází nová autenticita díla založená na fúzi těchto dvou forem. S těmito změnami se formuje taktéž pojem umělce - kurátora, který se stává zástupným modelem pro nejrůznější multidisciplinární kombinace schopností. Intuitivně se pohybuje mezi rozhraními, využívá networkingu k navázání široké sítě participujících a vytváří nové, funkční strategie poplatné současnému hybridnímu prostředí. Tento výzkum se zaměřuje na změny reorganizující tvůrčí struktury a metody/strategie, které z těchto proměn vychází. Autorka na základě hloubkové rešerše a komparace rozhovorů s českými a zahraničními umělci-kurátory sestavuje sadu nových umělecko-kurátorských strategií. Funkčnost základních principů testuje na hybridním vlastním výstavním projektu https://isitjustamyth.com.

Abstract:

The subject of the dissertation is an examination of the notion of the artist-curator in the development of Czech visual art from 2000 to the present. After the advent of Web 2.0, physical and virtual interfaces began to equally share attention in most everyday tasks, and with this has changed also approach to creation, distribution and perception of visual materials. As a result, the boundaries between theory and artistic practice are shifting and blurring, the relationships between art and the exact sciences and humanities are deepening, and communication/participation is accelerating/expanding at many levels. In addition to its classical material aspect, the artwork also acquires a pure digital value information, resulting in a new authenticity of the work based on the fusion of these two forms. With these changes, the concept of the artist-curator is also taking shape, becoming a proxy model for various multidisciplinary combinations of skills. He moves intuitively between interfaces, uses networking to establish a wide network of participants and creates new, functional strategies suitable for contemporary hybrid environments. This research focuses on changes that reorganize creative structures and the methods/strategies that emerge from these transformations. Based on in-depth research and comparison of interviews with Czech and foreign artist-curators, author compiles a set of new artistic curatorial strategies. She tests the functionality of the essential principles on a hybrid exhibition of the project https://isitjustamyth.com.
