The Training Methodology of Choral Music for The World Choir Games - Riga 2014 (The Chamber Choir Syrinx Litoměřice)

Abstract:

Diplomová práce představuje nový význam pro slovo Syrinx a to názvu pro komorní sbor z Litoměřic. Zabývá se vznikem a vývojem tohoto litoměřického hudebního tělesa. Popisuje jednotlivé a stěžejní momenty, které v průběhu vývoje nastaly. Dále představuje jednu z nejprestižnějších mezinárodních soutěží na světě a to The World Choir Games (sborovou olympiádu). Tato mezinárodní soutěž je velice zajímavá a inspirující svojí atmosférou. Je zde popsán její vznik. Nechybí popis rozdělení do základních kategorií. Struktura soutěže je zde rovněž popsána. Nechybí ani historie jednotlivých ročníků této soutěže, které se konaly na různých kontinentech Země. Dále se diplomová práce zaměřuje na jednu vybranou kategorii, kterou si komorní sbor Syrinx zvolil pro 8. ročník mezinárodní soutěže, která se konala v lotyšské Rize. Tato kategorie byla velice specifická, proto je další část práce věnována jednotlivým skladbám. Tyto skladby jsou zde popsány a zčásti analyzovány.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis presents a new meaning of the word Syrinx, namely for the title of the chamber choir from Litomerice. It deals with the origins and the development of this musical ensemble. It describes particular and pivotal moments which arose during the evolution. Thereinafter it introduces one of the most prestigious international competitions in the world, The World Choir Games (The Choir Olympics). This international contest is greatly interesting and inspiring for its atmosphere. Its inception is described herein. The characterization of the division into the elementary categories is not omitted. The structure of the competition is described herein, as well. Even the history of the individual years of this event which took place at different continents of the Earth is not left out. Furthermore, the diploma thesis focuses on one selected category which the chamber choir Syrinx chose for the 8th year of the international competition which was held in Riga, Latvia. This category was highly specific; therefore the next part of the work is devoted to the particular music. These pieces are described and partly analysed herein.
