Narcissistic Personality Disorder of the Students of Psychology

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce si kladla za cíl odhalit míru narcistické poruchy osobnosti u studentů fakulty pedagogické oboru Psychologie se zaměřením na vzdělávání na základě porovnání s dalšími fakultami Západočeské univerzity v Plzni. Teoretická část přibližuje problematiku narcismu z hlediska různých teorií, zasazuje ji do historického kontextu, nabízí analytický pohled na symboliku narcismu v literatuře, spekuluje o jeho příčinách a v závěru pojednává o možných projevech. Praktická část líčí teoretická východiska výzkumu, jeho cíle, metody, strukturu výzkumného vzorku a samotné výsledky šetření. Výzkum přinesl řadu zajímavých poznatků v čele s klíčovým zjištěním, že studenti z kontrolních skupin svým podílem narcistické poruchy osobnosti překonali laťku nastavenou studenty Psychologie se zaměřením na vzdělávání. V celkovém měřítku se narcismus ukázal jako jedna z nejčetnějších poruch osobnosti vůbec. Tyto a další závěry byly v praktické části podloženy názornými grafy a následně interpretovány.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis was to explore the rate of narcissistic personality disorders of the students the Faculty of Education in the study field of Psychology in Education. These students have been compared with students of other Faculties of the University of West Bohemia. The theoretic part is focused on the issue of narcissism in terms of different theories, put in historical contexts, offers an analytical look at the symbolism of narcissism in literature, it speculates about its causes and finally discusses the possible manifestations. The practical part describes the theoretical starting points of research, its goals, methods, structure of the research sample and the actual results of the research. The research has shown a number of interesting findings, especially that students in control groups of other Faculties have a higher score on the tests that evaluate narcissistic personality disorder than students of Psychology in Education. The overall rate of the narcissism emerged as one of the most frequent personality disorders in general. These and other findings were supported in the practical part of this thesis.
