Phenomenology of Religion - Sacred Places of The History of Religion: The Assumption Church in the Franciscan monastery in Pilsen.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá významnou kulturní památkou kostelem Nanebevzetí Panny Marie, nacházející se v areálu františkánského kláštera v Plzni. Součástí práce je předložení stručné historie celého františkánského kláštera s příslušným kostelem, dále seznámení se s jejich osobními patrony svatého Františka a Nanebevzetí Panny Marie. Hlavní část práce se snaží přiblížit uměleckou výzdobu kostela. Jedná se především o vnitřní movité vybavení interiéru. U těchto památek je věnována pozornost historickému vývoji, a pak zejména celkovému zdokumentování, zhodnocení a posouzení současného stavu na základě terénního výzkumu. Součástí práce je i analýza krádeží sakrálních uměleckých děl na území Plzeňského kraje. V závěru práce je pozornost soustředěna na celkové shrnutí zdokumentovaného a následně zpracovaného materiálu. Představeny jsou i možnosti obnovy památek.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with a significant cultural monument, the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin, located in the premises of the Franciscan monastery in Pilsen. The thesis presents a brief history of the entire Franciscan monastery with the respective church, also an introduction of their personal patrons Saint Francis and the Assumption of the Virgin. The main part of the paper attempts to describe the artistic decoration of the church. It includes in particular the interior movable equipment. The objects under monument preservation were selected that are the main part of the interior equipment of the church. In these monuments, attention is paid to the historical development and in particular to the overall documenting, evaluation and assessment of the current state based on field research. The thesis also includes an analysis of thefts of sacral objects of art in the Pilsen Region. In the conclusion work, attention is paid to the general summary of the documented and then processed material. Presented are also possibilities restorations of the monuments.
