Influence of Activation and Development Programmes on the Lives of Adults with Intellectual Disabilities

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou rozvoje mladých dospělých lidí s mentálním postižením v České republice prostřednictvím sociálně aktivizačních služeb. Cílem je prostřednictvím případové studie prozkoumat vliv sociálně aktivizačních služeb pro osoby se zdravotním postižením v konkrétní organizaci na samotné účastníky, zachytit jejich subjektivní pohled na vlastní rozvoj, případně objevit jejich další možné potřeby a nastínit tak možnosti dalších inkluzivních snah. Teoretická část obsahuje tři kapitoly. První se zabývá fenoménem mladé dospělosti a specifiky dospělého člověka s mentálním postižením v kontextu jeho života v současné společnosti. Druhá kapitola se zabývá způsoby jeho podpory, třetí charakterizuje aktivizační a rozvojové programy jako sociální službu. Čtvrtá kapitola představuje empirickou část diplomové práce, jejímž předmětem je případová studie. Obsahuje kromě metodologických postupů také podrobné kazuistiky tří dospělých osob s mentálním postižením. Uvádí závěry provedeného výzkumného šetření, analýzu dat, hledá odpovědi na stanovené výzkumné otázky.

Abstract:

This master thesis, titled focuses on the issues connected with development of Czech adults with intellectual disabilities through the activation and development programmes. The effects of these programes on their participants are examined through a case study. The study’s objective is to record the participants‘ subjective opinions on their personal development, disclose their other possible needs, and thus outline other possible ways of inclusion. The theoretical part has three chapters. The first one deals with the phenomenon of young adulthood and the specifics of adults with intellectual disabilities in the context of their lives in today‘s society. The second one examines the forms of their support, the third one describes the activation and development programmes as a social service. The fourth chapter performes the empirical part. Apart from the description of relevant methodology, it involves detailed interpretations of the case study in which took part three adults with intellectual disability. It presents research outcomes with the analysis of gained data, and seeks to answer the main questions set forth in our research.
