Geology and pedology of quarries near the Moravian gate in connection with settlement of trees

Abstract:

Tématem práce je geologická a pedologická charakteristika vybraných lomů, nacházejících se v Moravské bráně. Na tuto charakteristiku navazuje dendrologická analýza okolních lesů v návaznosti na výskyt dřevin rostoucích na iniciálních stanovištích a rekultivovaných plochách. V teoretické části práce je popsána geologická stavba zájmového území se zaměřením na hranické paleozoikum a na jižní výběžek Nízkého Jeseníku. Dále je popsána dřevinná skladba zájmového území a její ekologické nároky ve vztahu k osidlování míst narušených těžební činností. Ve vlastním výzkumu je porovnávána dřevinná skladba v okolí lomů s dřevinnou vegetací vyskytující se na iniciálních stanovištích a rekultivovaných plochách. Pozornost je také věnována lokalitám, na nichž se vytváří nové půdy. Na vybraných lokalitách byl prováděn odběr vzorků půd, za účelem zjištění chemického složení půd v jednotlivých lomech.

Abstract:

The main topic of this thesis is a geological and pedological characteristics of selected quarries located in the Moravian Gate.This description is followed by dendrological analysis of surrounding woods with emphasis on the appearance of trees on initial a reclaimed areas.The theoretical part of the thesis describes the geological structure of the area, focusing on the Hranice Paleozoic and the southern tip of the Nízký Jesenik. There are also described tree species of the area and their ecological requirements by settlement of locations disturbed by mining activities.In the authors own research, there are compared tree species around quarries and on initial a reclaimed areas. Attention is also paid to locations where is created new soil. At selected locations were carried out some soil samplings, to determine the chemical composition of the soil in various quarries.
