The history of social care for citizens of roma ethnic minority in the city of Ostrava.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje tématu Historie sociální péče o občany romského etnika na území města Ostravy. Cílem této práce je zmapovat historický vývoj sociální péče o romské obyvatelstvo v období od konce druhé světové války do první poloviny 80. let 20. století obecně v tehdejším Československu, a konkrétně pak na území města Ostravy. Metodologicky je práce založena na historickém výzkumu. Diplomová práce vznikla na základě studia primárních pramenů z archivních zdrojů, které jsou uloženy v Archivu města Ostravy, pro orientaci v dané problematice jsem čerpala ze sekundární literatury. V textu je zpravidla zachována původní terminologie pro reálné dokreslení tehdejší doby. Výsledkem diplomové práce je komplexní popis sociální péče o již zmíněnou cílovou skupinu zejména na území města Ostravy ve sledovaném období, včetně popisu péče z dalších oblastí ze státní sféry, dále také identifikace užívaných metod sociální práce a pracovní náplň sociálních pracovníků v 70. letech.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the history of social care for Roma citizens in the city of Ostrava. The aim of this work is to explore the historical development of social care for the Roma population in the former Czechoslovakia, and specifically in the city of Ostrava in the period from the Second World War to the first half of the 1980s. Methodologically, the work is based on a historical research. The thesis is primary based on historical sources from the Archives of the city of Ostrava, and for additional information in this matter, I?ve gathered this from secondary literature sources. The text has generally retained its original terminology for the purpose of an illustration of the time. The result of this thesis is a comprehensive description of the social care for the target group especially in the city of Ostrava of that period. It all so includes a description of the care in other areas of the state, as well as the identification methods used by states social work policy and workload of social workers in the 1970s.
